Bol is the oldest seaside town of Brač, situated on the southern slopes of the island, with a lot of beautiful beaches. On the western side of the town is the famous beach - Zlatni rat (the Golden Cape), the most famous and the most beautiful beach in Croatia. From the very center of Bol you can enjoy a wonderful walk by which you can reach the Golden Cape Beach in 20 minutes. A promontory, stretching almost half a mile into the sea. It was created by depositing gravel around the underwater reef. Along with the influence of undersea currents and winds it often changes its shape on the top. In this area from Bol there are many hotels, and the newer part of town.
At the eastern end of Bol is the old Dominican monastery with an interesting archaeological exhibition.
In the center there are a number of stylish buildings, a baroque mansion, a lodge with a churchyard, a Renaissance baroque palace with an art gallery, a parish church.
On the pedestrian walk are the cafes and restaurants that fit perfectly into a harmonious set of original folk architecture.
